Pertinent Laws and Regulations

As another important part of its public policy role, the Association monitors the actions of state and federal legislative and regulatory agencies. When necessary the Association will advocate for or against legislation and regulations that impact public policy in prevention and protection services, child welfare, children’s health, and juvenile justice. The advocacy efforts not only target the South Carolina legislature but also the Office of the Governor and State agencies that play a key part in formulating public policy. To help in accomplishing these goals, the Association has registered lobbyists.
